Tom got to spend some time with his boss Scott Dieleman yesterday playing TPC Sawgrass with a couple customers. One of the perks of having some status on the tour is having a membership at Sawgrass & playing privileges at all the TPC courses! When we move down to Naples next month he will utilize TPC Treviso Bay as his home course & practice facility. ... See MoreSee Less
Sorry I didn’t make a post yesterday. It was a rough day emotionally for all 3 of us. The stress of what could’ve/should’ve been took it’s toll (mostly on Tom & I - Mike is amazingly positive) and it was difficult to get past. Obviously having been so close to the ultimate goal and then watching it slip away, no matter how hard you try, is devastating - both to experience as a player & to watch as a wife. I will write a blog about these past few weeks & explain in better detail. I think it’s important to let you in on the not-so-great side of our story because after all, I promised to take you all along with us on our journey. It can’t all be hearts & roses, there are thorns in there too. The next couple of months will be a bit of a break for Tom. We’ll be back in Michigan for the holidays from Dec 17-Jan 5 and then we’ll come back to FL (Naples) where will stay until the end of March. The Sr Tour events will start up again in February so he’ll have some time to practice & work through some swing issues he’s having during that time. Thanks for your well wishes & support...it means more than you know. #teamwerk ... See MoreSee Less
Hang in there Leslie and Tom. And make sure to call us when you get to Florida. You can come up to the Hideaway for a round. The best is yet to come!
Where in Naples?
Congratulations Team Werk! Long road is better than no road!
I am still very proud of you and your accomplishments don't ever stop trying. Love you guys
you may not havepreached your goal yet, but it is still attainable.
Many fall, some get up. I’m willing to bet Tom always gets up.
Sorry that you guys didn't make the top 5. But what a nice run it was. Keep the faith. I'm sure Tom keeps learning new things out there which in itself is exciting . Loved following you online. Have a nice holiday 😁
Proud of you Tommy and Boogs!!! Learn and grow.

In a time that I was at one of life’s low moments, a wise man told me “Everything will be fine in the end. If it isn’t fine now, you are not at the end”. I found/find that statement to be extremely hope-filled. Keep up the hard work and dividends will be paid.
Love you guys!!!!
It’s gonna happen, patience is key. Happy holidays.

See u in Michigan in a few weeks
So the report is 3 bad shots cost him 4 strokes...but all-in-all Mike is very pleased with his ball-striking. Honestly, I’m such a wreck after having to stay home today & watch online that I really don’t feel like posting anything else. My ulcer is back & I’m tired.
Lots of Werk left to do. 9:50am tee time tomorrow #teamwerk ... See MoreSee Less
Once again, the score you see online does NOT tell the story of what happened out there. Tom’s swing problem reared it’s ugly head again. He has a drill he needs to practice EVERY day & before EVERY round until he gets past this particular glitch. Today he did not do that drill before his round (trusted he had it under control). In his words, he had the mid-iron swing yips. However, he hit his driver well (barely) missed 2 fairways, hit his chips & pitches great & putted pretty good. All these things made for a stressful round, full of scrambling to keep what ground he’d gained. It was cold (by Florida standards) 49 degrees, windy and the greens were running about 12’s. All this made for a great day for Tom to have swing issues - because he’s so good at playing in challenging conditions - his “poor play” in those conditions equates to another’s good play in those same conditions. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, that’s how you move up 10 positions when you’re not playing your best. 😉 10:54am tee time - much Werk to be done. #teamwerk ... See MoreSee Less
My point was his score looked good on paper...it was not so watching it. He did well to scramble his way to a good score.
Seems like he's doing just fine to me.....positive vibes!
I just read this and thought he shot a million. Checked the scores and he did great. Get it done Tom
Tied for 8th is a good position to be in... couple good rounds now and he'll be there!
Grinding is what you do best...you can do this🤩
I was worried to look at the leaderboard after reading the first part of the message. I looked and was very happy! Keep grinding team!!
I think he played great! Keep up the great Work!
Never let up! Hope conditions stay "Michigan Favorable"!
Nice outcome Tom
Keep positive and play your game. In great position. Go Team Werkmeister
Buddy you should be proud of yourself for grinding it out and pulling out this number. Cuz you know you can do much better so when your bad days are like this man your good days are going to shine very bright. Keep it up one more day! Go get them
We're excited! Go Tom! PMA. Positive mental attitude
Never be satisfied, grind away!!!
Stay on the grind bud, keep it up!
Keep it going Tom! You’re doing awesome!
Great playing and great position Tom
Lots of folks back home in Michigan trying to Will your putts in the hole from afar. Have a great day out there
Tom played great today other than the 3 holes that cost him the strokes he gave back. The conditions were not easy; wind & FAST greens (probably 11.5 to 12). With the wind, 18 played super tough, even the pro-shop said that was probably the hardest hole today. Unfortunately that was also his worst swing of the day & in those conditions, an unforgiving, tough hole goes from bogey to double. Tee time tomorrow is 10:21am...lots of Werk to do. #teamwerk ... Good practice round today. Although Tom is struggling with some swing issues right now, he & Mike were able to work through some things that helped a great deal. He’ll need to work on those “fixes” some more during tomorrow’s practice round and hopefully will find a comfort zone to take him into Tuesday’s first round and through the rest of the week.
Tuesday’s tee time is 9:14am off #1. I am going to try to get there in time to watch him on the back 9 on Tuesday & I’ll go out for the all 18 on Friday (I’m working this week). They shuffle pairings according to score after Tuesday’s round.
Top 5 finishers this week walk away with full status for next year. If it’s the same as last year, finishing 6-30 will earn conditional status (which is what Tom has this past year).
During the last half of Friday’s round...Tom struggled. After the round he & Mike went to the range where they discovered Tom’s ball position had crept way forward in his stance...which leads to him having to slide forward to try to get to the ball, which then leads to all kinds of directional issues. It’s always something easy...it’s just a matter of figuring out what it is. Part of the learning process between player & caddy is the caddy knowing when & if he should make mid-round suggestions. They came to an agreement during this last round that ball position is something Tom needs to be aware of when & if he gets out of position again in the midst of a round. Developing a comfortable-ness with where the ball needs to be (he’s always played it forward) comes with practice. Thankfully he has friends down here who are able to provide him a place to do just that. ... See MoreSee Less
It was a little scary at the end...but this piece of paper is all we needed! We’re off to TPC Tampa a week from Sunday. I am SO glad this week is over! Time to enjoy a nice relaxing evening out with a very handsome man & his caddy 🥰 ... See MoreSee Less
Tom shot 69 today. 4 off the lead. His caddy & coach Mike Boogaard was very happy with how he played, minus the middle holes (which are the hardest on the course from what they said). He had 12 putts on his opening 9 and 17 on his back 9 (which included a 3-putt). The switch to the Cameron putter has definitely proved to be what he needed to get his putting back on track. Obviously with 4 rounds this is a marathon & not a sprint so he still has lots of Werk to do! 9:40am tee time tomorrow. ... See MoreSee Less
Thanks to everyone who’s watching & waiting for scoring updates! Please realize that I have to work all week so I’m not watching him play...I’m stuck waiting for the online scoring like everyone else! 😩 ... See MoreSee Less
Tuesday’s tee time is 8:40am off #10. The link below will take you to the leaderboard. If you click on the drop down you can navigate to the tee times. There are 2 First Stage qualifying sites; the other being in California.
1st Stage Q-School practice day 1...first round is Tuesday. They’ll get their tee times sometime today & I’ll post them along with any scoring information I find out. I believe the only scoring available will be after the rounds each day. ... See MoreSee Less
