Keep this up and you can play in Super Senior games. Enjoy.
Happy Birthday Tom!
Happy Birthday Tom!
I met a friend of you guys yesterday ... he is going to help us move, with Scully Statewide moving company, his name is Dan, and he bowls with Ryan. He was a really nice guy!
Anyway, hope you guys have a wonderful day celebrating Toms Birthday 🎂
Stay positive. Even tiger is struggling with the putter right now.
What is the problem with his putting?
Have you tried leaving the pin in?
Alright Tommy, I’ll come give ya some one handed lessons. Buck a ball... that’s how I got Tiger back on track. Lol...😂😘
You can do it❣️❣️❣️
S F T
It will come back babe
I know it's hard, but be patient
Luv u guys
Hang in there Werk!
Consider a change in putting. New putter, new ball, new lesson, new coach, new approach (leave pin in), anything! As soon as it clicks, you will kick butt! It will happen. You got this!
Be the ball
You can do this. We are with you. "NEVER, EVER GIVE UP"
We are with you all the way...you'll get it Werked out🤩
Tom shot -2 today but missed the cut by 2 strokes. His ball striking was really good but his putter let him down (he missed several short birdie putts & had 2 three putts. However...he’s most disappointed because it’s my birthday today & he really wanted it to be special for me. Thing is...just being here with him, doing what I love to do, ON my birthday, is all I could ask for.
We’ll stay here until Saturday with our friend who is kind enough to let us stay with her so I can work this week instead of trying to travel & find a place to set up shop at our next destination. We’ll leave to drive to Mission Viejo on Saturday for his next qualifier on March 5th. I’ll post that information as soon as I have it.
11am tee time tomorrow (1pm EST)...I have the day off and will be out there watching him play, but likely will not have my phone on while on the course so if you text me & I don’t answer, you know why.
Tom says it’s a very tight track with small greens. He also said the grass is more like we’re used to back home.
It’s beautiful in Tucson so we’re hoping to spend the week here before heading to Newport Beach, CA for another qualifier.
Sometimes it’s hard to think of something to post. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have to do a post. Sometimes I forget we’re not alone...
This past week’s qualifier was frustrating. Again. He really wanted that one.
During Tom’s radio interview last week...Steve asked an interesting question; does Tom think that by practicing all the time, he could end up “practicing” a bad habit? Obviously that’s possible, I don’t think either of us considered it though. Could he possibly be practicing & perfecting the “glitch” in his swing? Not having the luxury of an on-staff coach presents a unique challenge that we are working through. We record his swing, send it to Mike & he analyzes it. Then Tom tries to work on fixing what Mike sees. It’s never anything major...it’s always something simple. Which is nice. Thankfully Mike always makes himself available; for golf coaching & mental coaching (for me sometimes more than Tom)! One thing we think may be contributing to what is turning into stressful golf is that the game has turned into the job. There are expectations & pressures that didn’t exist before. This was not unexpected...but learning to cope with it is the part of the journey that will either make or break his ability to be successful. I’ve seen Tom work through this before. I have no doubt he’ll do it again.
So the plan right now is to take the time between qualifiers to step back and try to get back to playing golf because he wants to play golf, not because he needs to fix anything or get better...and because he loves this game and because he knows this is what he was meant to do.
So as always...thank you for your patience & your never-ending support. The next qualifier is in Tucson, AZ on February 25th. I’ll post information a day or two before his round. ... See MoreSee Less
Here are the pairings for Tuesday’s qualifier in Ft Myers. The tournament will be held right here at Lely Resort in Naples. I’ll post the link for online scoring tomorrow evening but you can navigate there from the link below as well.
Today was a grind. All-in-all...I think Tom played well. He only missed 1 fairway & 4 greens. Even his putting looked okay...but he couldn’t get anything to fall. He’s not sure if he was misreading the greens or if there’s an issue with his stroke - that’s something we’ll look into tomorrow or Wednesday (basically I’ll record him putting & we’ll send it off to Mike to take a look at if we can’t figure it out ourselves based on previous recordings). On top of that, the course played long and if you know Tom’s game, you know he’s not the longest player out there.
So while disappointed, he will put this behind him and regroup this week in preparation for the next qualifier, which is a week from tomorrow in Ft Myers. I will post that information as that day gets closer. ... See MoreSee Less
Another crappy day in Florida...they’ve had about 8” of rain here in the last week so we’re expecting LC&P to be in effect tomorrow as balls are plugging in the fairways. Because of that, an already long, difficult course (6916 yds and a slope of 144) is going to play ALOT longer and more difficult! ... See MoreSee Less
