9:20am tee time tomorrow (11:20am EST). Scores will probably only be posted after the round. This is all the information I have right now.
I do know that the field shown below is a bit smaller due to some guys already getting in due to their status. There will still only be 4 spots available. ... See MoreSee Less

The road to Calgary; Part 3
Yesterday, with a little help from Tom’s Canadian caddy Tim, he & Scott Pieri got to play Banff Springs! This was a bucket list item for Tom so it was great he got the chance to play! They were paired with a great young couple from Edmonton who were there celebrating their anniversary. Devon & Kayla were such fun! Even though there was a bit of rain on the finishing holes, it was a perfect day!
We are very grateful to Tim & all he’s done for us since arriving in Canada!
I know you’ll be surprised, but I took a few pictures 😇 and most are Live so hold your finger down to see them in action 👍🏼. I’ll put some video in the comments as well! ... See MoreSee Less
Thanks for the round I’ll be following Tom and Scott on Tour cheering them on. Thanks so much for the pictures Leslie, if your ever in the Edmonton area give me a shout and maybe we can set something up.

The Road to Calgary; Part 2
Yesterday we traveled from Victoria to Invermere so Tom could play Copper Point today with his pro-am buddies from last year. They all work at the course and told us how beautiful it was so Tom made a point to get there this year. They were not exaggerating! It. Was. Beautiful! The course is nestled into the Rocky Mountain Trench (see the last picture) and has stunning views from every hole! We had a great time with the GM/President Brian and a couple of his guys; Riley & Adam. This course is public, rated #8 in all of Canada & cart-mandatory & after walking the back 9, I understand why that’s so. If you make it out this way, you really need to stop in & play it!
Oh. And I took a few pictures 😉 ... See MoreSee Less

First stop on our mini-vacay was Victoria, BC. Tom’s caddy from The Shaw Charity Classic last year, Tim, was able to get Tom on at Victoria Golf Club...which now ranks as my 2nd favorite course of all time (right behind Bandon Dunes). The course is the oldest West of the Mississippi (est 1893) and sits right on the ocean. It was kind of a gloomy day, but that didn’t change how much we enjoyed being there! Tom got to play with a couple members who were awesome! While we sit on the ferry to Vancouver so we can continue our drive to Invermere (Tom is playing Copper Point tomorrow with his pro-am teammate from last year), I seriously can’t wait to come back! If Victoria, BC isn’t in your travel plans at at some point - change your travel plans. What a remarkable place! I could live here! ... See MoreSee Less

Tom played good today! He missed a couple putts, but not because he putted bad...they just didn’t go in.
When there are only 4 scores out of 30 that are over par, you know it’s a strong field! I’m proud of the way he played. -3 is a good score. Had you told me before we played that it would be T9, I’d have laughed. But that’s why these guys are here; they’re that good!
We’re on our way to Victoria, BC on the first part of our trip through Canada on our way to Calgary for the next qualifier a week from today. I’m excited for this part of our trip & while we’re both disappointed he didn’t qualify today, we’re looking forward to a little mini-vacay; just the 2 of us. ❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Now for the announcement:
Due to work obligations (read: a VERY successful golf course), Mike Boogaard is going to step back from caddying for Tom. As is understandable, he’s most busy at his golf course (The Pines) on weekends - when Tom would need him most. He will still coach Tom (thank GOD), he just can’t be available on short notice to take off for a week/weekend to caddy.
Our son-in-law Ryan is also busy with his new career as a realtor so while we hope he can still serve as backup, he wasn’t an option for primary caddy as his weekends are also his busiest time. Not to mention the fact that he has a new baby on the way, our first grand baby!
So we asked John Seltzer (former pro at Blythefield CC, now successful self-employed golf instructor) if he would be interested in filling the spot of primary caddy...and to our delight he said he would! We’re so thankful to have him - I think he & Tom will make an outstanding team! John will (hopefully) make his debut out West should Tom qualify in WA or Calgary.

Tom Disappointed I didn’t get the call! Must be to old @ 57 years old. Would love to fill in here in Florida if needed. Past West Michigan Champion. Lol
This is good!
Good luck with the new team!!! Mooner
Steve Morse. Buckle up !!!
Let’s get weird!!
So this week didn’t go so well in Boyne. Once again Tom had problems putting on Monday - but with some help from good friend (and PGA Pro at Gull Lake CC) Daniel A. Urban Jr. he was able to get straightened out a bit for Tuesday. His +1 round that day was mostly a result of leaving himself above the pin (which is a no-no on the Monument course at Boyne). He rallied today with -5 at the Alpine course but it was just too little, too late.
Next up is a Monday qualifier in New York on Aug 12th - so he finally gets to be home for a bit! I expect there will be some time spent with Mike Boogaard during this down period. 😊 ... See MoreSee Less
Sorry to hear about Monday but awesome round on Tuesday Tom!! I hope to see Mike on September 7th . We have a big outing at The Pines ! Is he on Tom’s bag that weekend?
I’m thinking if it’s a “mountain” course it would be better to be below the hole. But that’s just my Wiley golf coach skills surfacing again, I can’t stop it, it’s a gift/curse
As a former national golf swing fixer, sometimes with putting it's just a simple pitter change. Putting is confidence; not necessarily a swing problem. 15% of the time it is a stroke issue, but a putter change can be the difference. Just FYI.
Good luck Tom Werkmeister. Thanks for the update Leslie Werkmeister
Putting is all about confidence....you can help him with this

The Alpine's 18th Hole Awaits the 28th TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
The Tournament of Champions starts Monday morning at 8 a.m. on the Alpine Course at Boyne Mountain Resort.
The 18th at Alpine usually figures as a factor in the championship, and often the title is decided on the par 5 with the pond protecting the green.
Did you know that all the Boyne-built courses in Michigan have a signature pond at No. 18. Think about it? The Heather, The Donald Ross, The Arthur Hills, The Monument, all finish with the possibility of a slash down.

So you’d think Tom would come back from Europe & chill for a bit, right? Wrong. As soon as he knew he didn’t make the Open Championship, he called & secured his spot in the Tournament of Champions being held on Monday & Tuesday at Boyne Mountain! He left this morning to play in the 2-day Pro-Am tomorrow & Saturday.
It’s crazy how much he loves this game...I suppose it’s a good thing he’s actually good at it!
I’ll post information on the tournament on Sunday night. ... See MoreSee Less
